The Department of Diet and Nutritional Sciences IBADAT International University Islamabad participated in the free medical camp at Standard Care Hospital. Dr. Fatima Amjad and Dr. Maimoona Waheed along with the students actively participated in the medical camp and prescribed the personalized nutritional plan along with dietary supplements to the patients.
The Nutritional status of the patients was analyzed via anthropometric measurements. Biochemical analysis along with different health indicators were assessed under the guided supervision of the dietitians.
The team educated the attendees on the importance of balanced diets, appropriate portion sizes, and the role of specific nutrients in maintaining health and managing chronic diseases. For individuals identified as pre-diabetic or diabetic, the students offered tailored dietary guidelines aimed at controlling blood sugar levels and improving overall health outcomes.
