IIUI Sustainability Committee is primarily focused on creating a culture of sustainability at IIUI in which the entire IIUI community is conscious of, involved in, and dedicated to promoting sustainability through education, research, operations, and community engagement. The committee works under the Office of Sustainability (OSus) at UOL by:

1. Facilitating interdisciplinary collaborations which aims to elevate awareness of sustainability concepts across the campus community and cultivate alliances that will educate and engage students, faculty, and staff in these endeavors.

2. Ensuring the preparedness of students to face the global challenges of the 21st century by sustainability integration into fundamental academic and educational programs.

3. Promoting the use of the University’s resources to address complex environmental, economic, and social issues through integrating sustainability into the academic curriculum, fostering interdisciplinary research, and participating in community service activities that advocate sustainability.

4. Inculcating sustainable practices into campus operations and long term planning by minimizing resource consumption and waste generation; establishing innovative procurement practices and recognizing, supporting, and rewarding initiatives that promote sustainability.
