Webinar on SDGs, THE Impact Rankings, and UI Greenmetric Ranking at Ibadat International University Islamabad.
An online webinar on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was organized by Ibadat International University Islamabad on 7th August 2025 through a virtual platform. The session aimed to raise awareness among faculty, staff, and students regarding the importance of SDGs and their integration into higher education, as well as to provide an understanding of the methodologies for Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings and UI Greenmetric World University Ranking. The webinar was conducted by Mr. Muhammad Saad Zafar, Assistant Director at the Office of Sustainability, University of Lahore, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the 17 SDGs, institutional responsibilities, and practical strategies for implementation. The session emphasized the significance of sustainability initiatives, including campus greening, energy efficiency, research contribution, and community outreach, for improving global rankings. Faculty members, administrative staff, and members of the SDG Committee actively participated, followed by an interactive Q&A session. The webinar concluded with a commitment to develop SDG-focused policies, integrate sustainability into academic and administrative processes, and adopt measures aligned with THE Impact Rankings and UI Greenmetric indicators. The event was highly successful in promoting sustainability awareness and reinforcing the university’s commitment to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda.
